I made a New Year’s resolution- Project 52. You may have heard of Project 365. The 52 version is just like the 365 but instead of posting an image daily, I will attempt an image once a week. Taking the image is easy (IMO). It’s the time to write the blog entry; now that’s the kicker.

New Year’s day- I was looking forward to staying at home. Kevin asked what my plans were for the day. I mentioned my idea of a day at home. He asked that I get ready to go- no explanations. We got into the Honda and drove to the City.

For Christmas, Kevin’s parents gave us a gift certificate to Applebee’s. What a pleasant surprise! We had a wonderful lunch. Then on to shopping. Kevin style of shopping- Cabela’s and the Bass Pro Shop!

Have I mentioned I really like my gmaCamera?

Yesterday I spent the beautiful day with my parents and kids. Kevin was playing farmer- cutting hay and bailing. After dinner we posed for our family photos. During our photo session, it occurred to me that we have four generations. Here we are above. These were taken with my Sony camera which I refer to as my gmaCamera.

July 5 was a fun evening. The festivities continued over at our friend’s house. Good food and fun fireworks.

It is a privilege to be an American. In the words of George W. Bush, We are fortunate to be citizens of this free land, and we are grateful to the brave men and women in uniform who call the United States home. Happy Fourth of July, and may God continue to bless America.

A Wonderful Day.

Today was a fun and memorable day. For my husband it began as a typical weekend day, getting up from the cozy, comfortable bed and preparing to go visit the girls at 6:30 am. This is not the typical for me, I generally roll out of the same bed at 8 am on Saturday mornings. Well today, I did the non-typical. I joined Kevin and went to visit his girls.

First he fed them a bit of grain. Then he loaded them up in the trailer to visit the vet for vaccinations and the such. The Vet’s office is a busy office Saturday morning. Met a few new faces. Enjoyed hearing their stories. While visiting with the other’s I noticed the wonderful view of the mailbox. After the girl’s were taken care of, we loaded them back up and brought them home.

Kevin invited me to lunch. We went to Chunkie Dunkers on the north side of the square in Oskaloosa, KS. Really good food, I recommend their food and service.
