Family Time | Easter Weekend

Hi, I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend with family and friends! I was very thankful to spend the whole weekend with members of my family. It is weekend’s such as this that I cherish greatly. Saturday I had the great pleasure spending the morning at my grand daughters soccer game. This was a first for me. I was the grand parent! Totally enjoying the game.

This was a first in the respect, I had to keep quiet. For me this is not an easy task! I know nothing about soccer; I didn’t want to yell out in case I was misleading. So I kept quiet (like a grandma should) and took my pictures. Following the game there was an Easter egg hunt.

The community center asked that the eggs be recycled (give back) so they could be used next year. It was good to see everyone emptying the eggs and giving them back.

After the morning activities, we headed to Red Robin for an endless basket of fries………..

After playing the biggest part of the day, it was time to head home and begin Easter baking. More family time Sunday with Easter dinner.

Christmas Dance Program and Dinner

dance class

Hi, I’m catching up from a busy December. Wanted to share with you my grand-daughters Christmas dance program. My daughter had sent a text about Briella’s dance program about a week in advance. The night before, I made sure the camera batteries were charged and then packed camera and batteries into my purse. The day of the program I arranged it to leave work right on time (5pm). The program started at 6 pm and I had a 45 to 50 minute drive, really depended on the traffic that evening. Well I got there right at 6. Good thing too, the little dancers were in the room practicing first!

Okay we go in and take our seats. The dancers make their entrance and begin to dance the routine. The image above was taken while Brie was preforming. Notice that she is in the back- way back. During each song, she was in the back. Erika explained to me that our little social butterfly talks too much in class- never does as the teacher says. However, Brie did really good. She’s just like her mama. Erika was so busy in school: dance; band; forensics; honor society; FMLA; drama; track-cross country and several others that I don’t remember off the top of my head. Our little Brie is a mini Erika!

Okay- the program lasted about 40 minutes. Once over Erika invited me to eat dinner with them. We went to their favorite Mexican restaurant. Erika and Shaune each got a drink with Brie getting her special drink as well- a virgin strawberry daiquiri – imagine that!

Now I have to admit, when it came to the family Christmas gathering at my home- I was bad. Bad in the respect of not taking pictures. When I remembered it was well past the gift opening. I did snap a pic of the wonderful gift given to me from the grandkids- with mom and dad’s help. I will wear it with immense pride.

I love this sweatshirt!

May your New Year be filled with much love and happiness.

Meet Merle!

meet merle

Hi, after moving into our home my husband was ready to add to the family. Meet Merle!

Merle is a beautiful Blue Heeler. By far Merle is my favorite pet ever in my adult life. We have had many dogs over our married life- Kevin is a hunter; hunting dogs and yard dogs. It’s Merle who has captured a huge part of my heart. He’s supposed to be a yard dog. He joined our family when he was just 6 weeks old. He’s now 8 months old. His job is to assist my husband with the cattle. So eventually Merle will be assigned to the great outdoors- our 80 acre backyard.

This morning during our walk down to the pond, Merle was running circles around me. The above top image you will see him jumping over the cattle grid effortlessly. The pond is sectioned off to keep the cattle away from the cabin and pond deck.

In the next coming weeks, Kevin will be training Merle to herd the cattle. He will be helping Kevin a lot, those bulls are quite big (1,000 lbs) and mean at times. Cows are not light weight either!

Take care.
