Parker Family 2014

Last weekend was a fun day for me. Spending time with my daughter, son-in-law and grandbaby! Briella is now 2. Do you know how difficult it can be photographing a two year old? Well, I had 20 good seconds with her and she was finished. Done.

That’s when I started taking images of Erika and Shaune. Oh how that caught Brie’s interest. After watching her parents, Briella wanted to join. The images turned out great- enjoy!

My grandmother went to stay with grandpa Valentine’s Day – February 14, 2014. Love endures. Back early in February I asked my dad if he would ride with me to visit grandma. Sure he replied. Grandma had taken a turn for the not too well and I knew if I wanted to see her, it should be soon. We headed out on Thursday morning, visiting with grandma early evening.

Her hair just done with her make up on, she was beautiful! We asked many questions, reminiscing of her and grandpa’s early years. She could recall the address of her home some 68 years past. We had a wonderful visit. That evening her wish came true- she went to sleep.

Bittersweet. At her funeral, I was blessed to spend time with family who live states apart. Some it had been years since I had seen them last. We shared laughs and tears. A time I will treasure.

Got Snow? | 12 inches of it!

Northeast Kansas experienced a snowfall beginning Tuesday morning ending Wednesday evening resulting in 12 to 13 inches of snow. Winds caused drifting in areas. Schools and businesses were closed both days.

Lots of Snow

It was Wednesday- Feb 6, 2014 that I had the opportunity to give my new Honda AWD a go. And she sure went! Well I did have a bit of moment. In the bottom left image above, my husband moved my car to the yard. Snow drifts blocked the Honda in the drive way. By parking the Honda in the yard, I had a better chance of picking up momentum that I would need to make it out to the black top. The top left image is the view left of driveway. The top right image is right of drive way. Normally I turn left, however the drifts were greater to the left. As I gave the Honda gas, I pulled out and made it just around the corner. The snow was tall enough that the bottom of vehicle was pushing snow and eventually I had to stop. Walked back to house for the shovel. Dug out from under the wheels and proceeded to drive. We made it through. My last car would have never even made it out of the driveway. I really like my new Honda!
